The red band trailer for Alexandre Aja's latest horror output, Mirrors, is here. You will remember this trailer for its notable use of girls-without-jaws, people being scared to death by their own reflections, and Kiefer Sutherland freaking out because apparently ghosts can't be tortured. DAMMIT, CHLOE.
The film is based on the 2003 Korean film Into the Mirror. I wasn't a big fan of the original, and had I been more appreciative of Aja's last two films (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes), I might've thought that this remake would be better. It is certainly gorier. One point of interest, though... The teaser trailer make no mention whatsoever of the fact that the film's main setting is in a department store. Take a look:
What's up with that? Did they think these haunted houses are that big of an easy sell? You'd think that audiences would find the store to be a refreshing change for ghost stories instead of the same old Asian horror wannabe haunted houses. Which is exactly what this tamer trailer suggests it being. Internet trailers: helping to clear up moviegoers' confusion since 2002.
