Today I opened my email and saw this message from a certain psycho:

“Holy Dark Knight, Batman! The POSTAL movie DVD is coming out on August 26, run to your local Walmart and let the insanity begin!”

Turns out it was from Running with Scissors CEO Vince Desi; who, by the way, has a cameo in the movie, should you be unfortunate enough to not have seen it yet. I have no idea why he's impersonating Joker, but it got my attention. I guess.

Postal had a hard time securing a theater run and its independent distribution went through several setbacks and postponements. When it was eventually released, it was in a very limited run and it was against Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, no less.

The DVD has the best thing about an Uwe Boll movie: the Uwe Boll commentary. It also includes "Raging Boll," a featurette on Uwe's infamous boxing match against his critics. There's a Verne Troyer parody of Indiana Jones, as well. The killer deal, though, is that the DVD also includes the PC version of Postal 2 and Postal 2: Share the Pain.

“We’re strongly encouraging fans to buy this DVD,” explained Vince Desi. “You don’t get the games if you rent the movie. What’s worse, RWS doesn’t see a penny on rentals. Besides, the Postal Movie on DVD means EVERYONE will have the opportunity to see it, even Usama Bin-Laden from his cave will want to see this masterpiece-not of film."

If you want to know what is it about this movie that got people genuinely raving about an Uwe Boll film (and yes, yours truly enjoyed himself very much watching it), check it out. It's available in both R-rated and Unrated versions, as well as Blu-Ray.
