The follow up to Coldplay's wildly successful 2008 album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, may hit store shelves much sooner than expected. According to NME, Coldplay already has enough healthy material stored up from the Viva la Vida sessions to put out a new album next year.

Viva la Vida was Coldplay's first time working with famed producer Brian Eno, and the change of personnel did wonders for the band's infamously tepid sound. The sessions with Eno were apparently so successful that the band recorded much more material than was needed for their 2008 album.

Frontman Chris Martin revealed that a song with Canadian pop princess Kylie Minogue titled "Luna," was recorded during the sessions and Martin was quoted as saying that the track would "be on a record we put out in 2009."

A representative of the band added to the rumor of a quick follow up, saying "The majority of (it) is already in the can, though they will have to go back to the studio at some point to add more songs."

Whether or not this mysterious 2009 album will sound identical to Viva la Vida is yet to be seen. If that is how things play out though, it's going to give the huge population of "Coldplay Haters"in the world even more of a reason to verbally abuse these hugely popular Brits on internet message boards.
